Is there a way to stop the Sun from growing into a Red Giant?

What way would be good for scientists to stop the Sun in our solar system in the future from growing into a Red Giant? If Humans have ideas about ringworlds, terraforming planets, Dyson Speres, and so forth then Humans must also have some idea of keeping the Earth's Sun the way it is now. All we have to do as a species is have sciencists do more research and be more creative and come up with ideas. We don't have to wait for the Sun to destroy Earth. We can try to control it's growth.
