Are there any plans to extend the Los Angeles Metro Subway Line through West LA and Santa Monica?

I live in the Brentwood area of West Los Angeles and the subway is not here yet. I would love for the subway to run along the Wilshire Corridor linking Santa Monica, Brentwood, Westwood and Beverly Hills to the other Metro Lines.
